Crazy busy day. I’ve been taking bikes to garages and MOTs left right and centre and visiting friends.

Saw this beast of a Desmosedici over at Cornerspeed so thought i’d share.

Now off for a nice cold beer and a curry at a mates house :-D

Tron Legacy

Awesome film. It would have been very hard for Tron Legacy to disapoint me, retro, computing and Ducatis in one film and it didn’t.

I love the original Tron, legacy makes use of just enough references from it to cause the occasional smile, but not too often to feel like a tribute. It did however make Flynns character seem a lot more sinister than I would have imagined him to be.

Great to see the Ducatis in the film even though a fair few cheeky shots of the logo on them, but I guess that is to be expected these days. Nice that the old Paul Smart of Flynn senior ends up in the house of the son later all dusty along with the newer sport classic.

Amazing effects, actually the first film I have seen so far in 3d, and it was nice and subtle, not too in your face. Well worth a watch in my opinion.

Rossi on the awesome Desmosedici

Valentino Rossi looking happy testing on the Ducati! this coming season is jut going to be amazing. Jerry Burgess seems happy, I wonder if he will pick the screamer or the big bang.

Lucky to have the commentary on in the background as I work away here.

MotoGP Valencia

Can’t wait for tomorrow, just gutted that it will be the last race of the season. Looks like Lorenzo is flying again this weekend as well as Stoner, it’s a shame Rossi is not up there at the moment in the free practise, but I am sure he will find his form later on.

I hope they will cover his testing on the Ducati, will be really interesting to see how he finds it and whether he picks a screamer or a big bang setup.

In other news, I found a kit that I could put on my Honda NC30, makes it look as good as a MotoGP bike hehe, I think anyway!

Cornerspeed Ducati

Posted in Biking, Cars and Bikes on November 6th, 2010 by iyoung – Be the first to comment

Just nipped my Ducati up to Cornerspeed up near junction 28 on the M1. Now with Motul 300v 15/50 oil she is purring. No signs of any chrome in the oil phew hehe, and a very handy change to allow her to run when the side stand is down and in neutral! No more sitting there for 10 minutes feeling silly.

Saw some awesome bikes that were in there for a service, 916 S, 1098 S, a 998 by the looks of it with everything on it hehe, a couple of really smart looking monsters and a nice matt black 749 great stuff.

Thought I would pop a couple of pics of Neil working on the bike while I was there, really decent chap, nice friendly service and nothing that didn’t need to be done, done.

Also he told me how to look after the bike when it’s stored away in the winter.

  • Disconnect the battery, re-charge it at the end of the winter period
  • Every three weeks or so put the bike in first roll it back about 3 meters then put it in neutral and roll back to where it was to keep the belts supple.
  • Fill the petrol up to the brim to stop condensation
  • Don’t just start it up for a few mins and just stop it to warm it as it’s not going to do the trick just will cause small hot spots which cause condensation to be introduced into the oil
